About The Position

Trader Interactive LLC is seeking a Tech Lead, Engineering to provide technical direction and leadership for engineering teams delivering complex product initiatives. This role involves driving day-to-day technical execution, ensuring work is well-scoped, prioritized, and aligned with business and technical goals. The Tech Lead will design, implement, and test high-quality, scalable solutions across multiple languages and frameworks, and ensure technical documentation is created and maintained. They will also develop and maintain technical project plans, collaborate with Product and stakeholders to define requirements and priorities, and ensure systems have appropriate monitoring, logging, and alerting. A key aspect of this role is leading efforts to improve system observability, proactively identifying trends and risks, and leading troubleshooting efforts during production incidents. The Tech Lead will ensure CI/CD pipelines support safe, repeatable deployments and serve as a primary technical liaison within the product triad, communicating technical constraints to various audiences. Additionally, they will provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, promote a culture of engineering excellence, and encourage innovation.

Requirements

Master’s in Comp Sci, Comp Engineering, relevant Engineering or other related field and 4 yrs relevant exp in full-stack web development experience, including modern frontend frameworks and leading an engineering team or driving large-scale architectural changes across multiple teams
OR Bach in Comp Sci, Comp Engineering, relevant Engineering or other related field and 5 yrs relevant experience in full-stack web development, including modern frontend frameworks and leading an engineering team or driving large-scale architectural changes across multiple teams.
Skills (4 yrs exp) in: building and operating production systems
Skills (4 yrs exp) in: troubleshooting complex production issues and lead incident response and root cause analysis efforts
Skills (4 yrs exp) in: working closely with product managers and cross-functional partners to align technical solutions with business and user needs
Skills (4 yrs exp) in: maintaining CI/CD pipelines and local development environments.

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and leadership for engineering teams delivering complex product initiatives.
Drive day-to-day technical execution, ensuring work well scoped, prioritized, and aligned with business and technical goals.
Design, implement, and test high-quality, scalable solutions across multiple languages and frameworks.
Ensure technical documentation created and maintained, including design docs, system flows, and operational guides.
Develop and maintain technical project plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource considerations.
Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to define requirements, success criteria, and delivery priorities.
Ensure systems owned by team have appropriate monitoring, logging, and alerting in place, considering performance and cost.
Lead efforts to improve system observability, proactively identifying trends, anomalies, and reliability risks.
Regularly review system health metrics and dashboards to maintain high standards of uptime and performance.
Lead troubleshooting efforts during production incidents, guiding teams through resolution and prevention.
Ensure CI/CD pipelines support safe, repeatable deployments (testing, rollback, automation).
Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with user and business needs.
Serve as a primary technical liaison within the product triad, ensuring transparent communication and shared understanding.
Communicate CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and technical constraints to technical and non-technical audiences.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to engineers across team.
Promote culture of engineering excellence through high standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and operational ownership.
ID skill, process, or knowledge gaps and partner with engineering leadership to address.
Encourage innovation by exploring improvements to existing systems, processes, and technologies.
