About The Position

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment and facilities, preferably with experience working specifically in the plastic manufacturing industry. This position requires multiple skills such as machining skills, understanding of mold repair, water-tower and cooling systems, a working knowledge of material drying systems and conveyance, basic to mid-level hydraulic, electrical repair and welding, preventative maintenance systems, and a basic understanding of injection molding and rotational plastics processing. Basic computer skills will be required to pull reports for work orders and load and communicate with other employees on the same and other shifts. This position may be reassigned to any shift based on production and maintenance needs.

Requirements

High School Diploma is required.
Experience working in a plastic manufacturing environment.
Ability to use machining equipment, tools, and measuring devices.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Exposure to welding or welding fabrication.
Hydraulic knowledge or experience.
Mechanical knowledge or experience.
Ability to read and understand multimeter AC/DC/Ohm.
Basic PLC Knowledge.
Electrical Experience, able to wire a plug or receptacle.
HVAC Knowledge and how to diagnose problems.

Nice To Haves

Any technical training or certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, repairing, analyzing, tuning and/or improving performance of injection molding, auxiliary, and support equipment pertaining to the manufacturing operation.
Root cause analysis, sustainment and performance of preventative maintenance schedules.
Reporting any safety issues immediately to the Maintenance Manager.
Working with the Maintenance Manager to foster continuous improvement across the organization.
General plant maintenance, upkeep and repair.
Working with, and assisting Technicians with production start-ups, communicating effectively with production supervisors on machine availability and status.
Controlling own daily activities within assignments, their job description, and company policy, in such a way as to produce maximum results in available time.
Working approved overtime, as determined by production needs and Maintenance Manager.
Immediately correcting any unsafe conditions observed, that are within own capabilities to correct, and responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions outside of own capabilities to correct.
Good housekeeping and adhering to all safety training and practices in all areas.
Aiding in own self development, by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Performing all other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician.
Works with and reports to production supervisor for direction in the absence of Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Lead Mechanic.
