About The Position
To perform phlebotomy on both outreach and hospital patients, traveling to various nursing homes. To accession and process specimens from inpatient and outreach clients; provide customer service through initiation and/or response to client inquiries via phone, fax, or printer regarding test status, results or specimen requirements. To register outreach and/or in-house patients, ie: insurance, dx.codes, demographics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience drawing blood from the elderly, Alzheimers patients, psychiatric patients and other patients who have difficult veins.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills.
- Ability to set priorities, multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with patients, staff, physician offices, etc.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Good typing skills.
- Current and valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Acceptable driving record for the duration of employment if driving is a responsibility of the job.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP certified preferred.
Responsibilities
