About The Position

Heartland Imaging is seeking a Tech Assistant to join our patient-focused team! This position is primarily weekday evenings, with a rotating Saturday shift. The Tech Assistant identifies patients and provides assistance with the completion of pre-procedure forms. They start IV access according to standard procedure under the direction of a Radiologist, and in accordance with state law. This role corroborates patient's clinical history with physicians order and procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. May also verify informed consent, if applicable. Provides optimal patient care by explaining procedure to patient and answering questions. Follows established Safety Standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Collaborates with referring clinics to facilitate patient care. Assists staff with supply inventory needs and keeps rooms stocked as appropriate. Maintains all medical record documentation in RIS and PACS as appropriate. Participates in ongoing customer service and process improvement efforts. Facilitates film/CD readiness as needed for patients and referring offices. Participates in performance improvement activities. Demonstrates consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge patient, Introduce yourself, provide Duration/timeline for test, Explain the test, & Thank them for choosing our center) and HEAL ( Hear them out, Empathize, Apologize, & Leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers. Takes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when work load/area allows. Attends/participates in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year as a trained Phlebotomist and/or Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
