About The Position

The Breeder Tech Advisor I position is an exciting opportunity to provide technical assistance to producers caring for our company's birds, ensuring their proper care and comfort. This role involves advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. The advisor will also conduct farm visits to document bird comfort, manage the flock, and adjust equipment settings. Additionally, they will direct feed and light schedules for optimal bird health and productivity, monitor bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation, and provide remedies when possible. The role also includes pulling blood and fat samples as required, coordinating bird placements to farms, assisting with catch schedules, and ensuring communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul. A key aspect of this position is ensuring both producer and company compliance with production contracts to produce high-quality, cost-effective flocks and adhering to all USDA and other government regulations when handling poultry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred.
  • 1 plus year in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered, required to sign a Bio-security agreement to avoid any non-commercial avian species examples: chickens, ducks, birds, parakeets, parrots, etc.

  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
