About The Position

We are seeking a Tech 1, Bakery – Sanitation to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As a Tech 1, Bakery – Sanitation, you will be accountable for maintaining food safety by cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing bakery equipment and work areas to support safe and efficient production operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, or a light industrial environment
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to operate sanitation equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, pressure washers, steam cleaners)
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 50 pounds or more
Ability to work in cold, wet, dusty, slippery environments and at extreme heights

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
Industrial truck or powered equipment experience
Experience maintaining sanitation records and documentation
Familiarity with MSDS and chemical handling standards
On‑the‑job training or peer mentoring experience

Responsibilities

Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met across assigned bakery areas
Clean, sanitize, and prepare equipment to be production‑ready for the next run
Operate and maintain sanitation and waste‑removal equipment safely
Follow SSOPs and maintain accurate sanitation documentation
Handle and use cleaning chemicals and sanitizers in compliance with MSDS guidelines
Support team‑based sanitation activities while working independently as needed
Train and support new sanitation team members
