About The Position

This internship offers a comprehensive understanding of the residential construction industry, equipping interns with marketable skills. The Eagle Academy program provides productive feedback and fosters growth through learning. Interns will gain observational experience with the Eagle Construction Process by observing team meetings and workflow assignments across Sales, Design & Marketing, Financial & Land Acquisition Management, Field Operations (Development & Production), and Preconstruction (Purchasing/Estimating/Drafting). They will engage in relationship-building by asking questions of employees and the Human Capital Manager. A significant portion of the internship will involve job-specific training within one of the four main areas, working directly for a supervising Mentor and performing real-time tasks. Weekly one-on-one feedback sessions with the Mentor will focus on role clarity, learning goals, and understanding the overall vision of Eagle Construction of VA. The internship concludes with a workforce readiness component, including an extensive interview process with supervisors, an Eagle Leadership Team member, and the Human Capital Manager to discuss the internship experience, performance, industry insights, and future career paths.

Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and MS Project.
  • Able to multi-task and meet various project deadlines.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and clients.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Gain observational experience with the Eagle Construction Process.
  • Observe collaborative team meetings and workflow assignments in Sales, Design & Marketing, Financial & Land Acquisition Management, Field Operations (Development & Production), and Preconstruction (Purchasing/Estimating/Drafting).
  • Engage in relationship-building by asking questions of Eagle Employees and Human Capital Manager.
  • Work within one of the four main areas of Eagle Construction as a focus for the remainder of the internship.
  • Perform real-time tasks to further the goals of the assigned department.
  • Attend weekly one-on-one feedback sessions with the Mentor.
  • Prepare for and participate in an extensive interview process with supervisor, a member of the Eagle Leadership Team, and Human Capital Manager.
