TEARING LINE OPERATOR - 3rd Shift
About The Position
Mohawk Industries is a Fortune 500, global flooring leader seeking a Tearing Line Operator for the 3rd shift. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring four different machines: Tearing Line #1, Tearing Line #2, Balers, and Blend Line. The operator will ensure the quality of the fiber being torn, monitor fiber levels in finished bins, and maintain a clean work area. Responsibilities include baling fiber, recording bale ticket numbers, and storing bales. The operator must also be able to break down machines when issues arise and collaborate with maintenance for machine upkeep and troubleshooting. This role involves sharing breaks with another operator, during which one operator is responsible for all tasks.
Requirements
- Responsible for driving a lift truck.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be quality minded.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Maintain a detailed down time report (basic writing and math skills).
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor Tearing Line #1, Tearing Line #2, Balers, and Blend Line.
- Monitor the quality of the fiber being torn by the two tearing lines.
- Monitor the levels of fiber in the finished fiber bins.
- Keep the work area and machines clean.
- Bale fiber when all finished bins are full.
- Tie bales with ropes and record the bale ticket number on the Bale production sheet.
- Store bales in the warehouse for future use.
- Break down machines when there is a problem.
- Work with maintenance to maintain machines and troubleshoot issues.
- Provide breaks for the other operator, taking responsibility for all tasks during that time.
