About The Position

The Team Supervisor provides engaging and inclusive leadership to maintain an emotionally and physically safe environment for patients and staff. Through observation, evaluation and daily supervision to staff and clients, the Team Supervisor oversees the provision of active treatment and daily activities within the program to enhance treatment engagement and outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma is required
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • Two or more years of direct care experience in a residential and/or psychiatric hospital environment or two or more years of management experience or a combination of management, education and direct care experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work/Services, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, Criminology or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving and maintaining proficiency in the utilization of KVC information systems, including but not limited to: My Avatar, Citrix and UltiPro
  • Responsible for achieving and maintaining proficiency in KVC’s program curriculum including but not limited to TST, PBIS, Resilience curriculum, SCM and Ukeru.
  • Effectively delegates tasks to staff members and empowers team members to improve their skills, confidence, knowledge, and communication.
  • Manages direct care employees, including orientation, ongoing training, oversight of responsibilities, approval of hours worked and PTO, compliance with KVC and accrediting body policies and procedures, fairly executing progressive disciplinary action and performance evaluations.
  • Actively demonstrate and provide constructive feedback to staff on their provision on care, completion of responsibilities and compliance with KVC’s Direct Care Guideline policy.
  • Ensures that all staff complete and submit proper documentation on patients progress toward treatment goal and effectiveness of interventions.
  • Ensures incident reports are reported to administrator on call and documentation is completed prior to shift end.
  • Keeps staff informed of patients diagnosis, treatment needs and safety issues by conducting turnover and unit huddles.
  • Assumes responsibility, together with staff, for the safety, care and treatment within the program.
  • Responsible for monitoring and adjusting staffing throughout the day based on the number of available personnel and program needs.
  • Will promote KVC’s trauma informed treatment and culture.
  • Assesses the patients environment to prevent harm brought to them by themselves, another patient, staff or anyone outside the agency.
  • Serve in a leadership capacity within KVC’s interdisciplinary team by demonstrating strong logical reasoning, collaboration and program solving skills.
  • Provide leadership and guidance during crisis intervention and emergency safety situations.
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on organizational needs and staff qualifications.
