About The Position

The Sales Manager oversees a core team of Account Executives managing the advertising program across a portfolio of airports nationwide. Collaborating closely with the Operations Manager, the Sales Manager shares responsibility for the team’s success and the performance of the assigned territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.
  • Five (5) + years of sales experience; Media/Advertising sales.
  • Broad business background with emphasis on sales, management, and/or business relations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them.
  • Deep knowledge of media and advertising industry, business cycles, key revenue, and expense drivers.
  • Deep and broad business acumen with strong analytical, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in large sales organizations, including experience building and developing a team of sales professionals.
  • Understanding of sales cycle and selling skills.
  • Must be able to travel outside of the office approximately 50% of the time.
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Has access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Account Executives to exceed local and national sales quotas, maximizing airport advertising revenue.
  • Sets and achieves individual performance goals and objectives.
  • Tracks and develops the sales team through performance evaluations, coaching, and strategy meetings.
  • Works with other Sales Leaders to create and launch scalable initiatives.
  • Recruits, selects, and develops top sales talent, holding the team accountable to metrics.
  • Travels with Account Executives for training, coaching, and high-level client meetings.
  • Coordinates with Sales VPs, Finance, and Operations to monitor expenses and ensure profitability.
  • Represents the company in dealings with airport management, clients, agencies, vendors, and associations.
  • Hires, selects, manages, coaches, and develops their sales team, holds them accountable against metrics and customer expectations, provides recognition and performance feedback by maximizing individual's talents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
