About The Position

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is hiring a friendly, outgoing Team Member to provide customers with fast, friendly, and efficient service and deliver quality, consistent products in a clean and inviting environment. Team Members work in a fast-paced kitchen and customer-service setting, covering multiple stations and supporting daily shop operations. The role requires standing or walking for at least three hours or as needed, and lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Illinois employees must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment. Pay is $15.25 to $15.75 plus digital tips; tip earnings are not guaranteed. Applications must be submitted by December 4, 2026, though the posting may close earlier if a suitable candidate is selected.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Able to manage potential allergens, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.

Responsibilities

Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
Restock the food line, chips, and cooler.
Efficiently prepare quality finished products, including sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, and ice cream.
Use the automatic slicer to prepare food items if 18 or older.
Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and utensils, and take out trash.
Operate the cash register and follow cash-handling procedures, including handling and balancing cash.
Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
Perform other duties as assigned.
