About The Position

Damariscotta Hardware is looking for a reliable, customer-focused team member who enjoys helping people solve problems and get their projects done right. Whether it’s finding the right tool, answering a question, or helping someone finish a project, you’ll be part of the reason customers trust our store and come back. You don’t need prior hardware experience—but you should be curious, hands-on, and willing to learn. We’ll teach you what you need to know, but you should enjoy becoming the kind of person others rely on for answers. No two days are the same, and there’s always something new to learn.

Requirements

• Someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in doing it well
• Curious and willing to learn new products and skills over time
• Reliable and able to stay productive without constant direction
• Strong communication and basic math skills
• Preferably able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to be on your feet for most of a shift
• Available for weekends and some holidays

Nice To Haves

• Interest in tools, home improvement, gardening, or DIY is a plus

Responsibilities

• Help customers find the right products and solutions for their projects
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service on the sales floor and at checkout
• Operate the register and handle transactions accurately
• Keep shelves stocked, organized, and easy to shop
• Answer phones and assist with customer questions
• Maintain a clean, orderly store environment
• Load purchases for customers
• Cut keys, pipe, or other materials (training provided)
• Fill propane (training provided)
