The Nursery Team Member is responsible for the care, maintenance, and management of nursery stock, ensuring trees and plant materials remain healthy, organized, and ready for site installation or sale. This role supports all aspects of nursery operations, including watering, pruning, fertilization, loading and unloading materials, planting and harvesting trees, and maintaining a clean, safe, and professional nursery environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • General tool use and maintenance
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating landscape, agricultural, or nursery equipment such as skid steers, tractors, trailers, mowers, and power tools
  • Experience with planting, transplanting, and handling nursery stock
  • Basic understanding of grounds maintenance practices, including mowing, trimming, grading, and debris management
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Water, fertilize, prune, stake, and monitor nursery stock; identify and report signs of pests, disease, damage, or other health concerns
  • Plant, transplant, and extract trees and other nursery materials, as needed
  • Load, unload, organize, and prepare plant material for delivery and installation
  • Operate nursery equipment and tools safely and efficiently
  • Maintain nursery grounds through mowing, trimming, weed management, debris removal, and general property upkeep
  • Repair and maintain nursery infrastructure, including fences, gates, roads, and planting areas
  • Assist with inventory organization, plant identification, and material management
  • Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Support team members and assist with seasonal and operational needs assigned, including other departments
  • Assisting in training and development of other nursery personnel
  • Tagging trees for upcoming deliveries when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
