About The Position

The Team Member Coordinator - Education is responsible for overseeing educational programming and supporting staff who provide services to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position ensures students receive individualized, high-quality educational supports while maintaining compliance with agency policies, school requirements, and regulatory standards. The Education Coordinator provides leadership, training, scheduling oversight, and program coordination to promote positive student outcomes and staff success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children, youth, or adults with developmental disabilities or other support needs.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all levels of staff inside and outside the organization.
  • Skilled in organization, time management, communication, and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to understand the individual needs of each student.
  • Sufficient knowledge of computer systems (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily educational programming and student supports.
  • Ensure educational services align with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior support plans, and individual goals.
  • Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure appropriate student supervision and support.
  • Assist in resolving student, staffing, and program-related concerns.
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to paraeducators and education staff.
  • Conduct training for new paraeducators.
  • Monitor staff performance, attendance, punctuality, and adherence to job responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with staff to address students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management when necessary.
  • Serve as a liaison between families, school districts, service providers, agency leadership, and educational staff.
  • Maintain regular communication regarding student progress, program needs, and staffing concerns.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, IEP meetings, and other team discussions as appropriate.
  • Ensure consistent communication and information sharing among education staff.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, educational regulations, student plans, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate student, staff, and program documentation.
  • Coordinate educational, recreational, and community-based activities that support student goals and provide meaningful learning opportunities.
  • Ensure proper staffing, transportation, materials, and safety measures are in place for activities.
  • Promote opportunities for students to develop independence, social skills, and community integration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
