About The Position

Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay is seeking hourly restaurant back-of-house (BOH) team members (line cook) for our our Charlotte, NC location in the SouthPark area. Hiring All Shifts. As a BOH team member, you will have the opportunity to prepare delicious, made-to-order food in a fast-paced, fast-casual restaurant environment, creating the “Ultimate Burger Experience” for our guests. The BOH position reports directly to the onsite GM, manager, and/or the shift supervisor at Bobby’s Burgers. In this position, you will be responsible for prepping food and cooking guests’ food. You will be required to keep your workspace clean throughout the day to meet health and safety guidelines, follow recipes consistently, adjust orders based on guest requests (i.e., substitutions, etc.), communicate with FOH (Front of House), and prepare an attractive presentation for each meal. The position must be performed in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Requirements

  • Prior food handling experience (kitchen preparation and cooking).
  • Knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Good guest service skills.
  • Dependable team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of units of measure and other basic math skills.
  • Ability to work assigned schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn how to perform basic tasks.
  • Ability to meet regulations concerning health risk issues regarding food handling.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to ensure the preparation and presentation of products in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and guests.
  • Ability to maintain personal and uniform cleanliness and standards.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit and more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe certification is valued, but not required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent desired, but not required
  • Culinary and/or some college is valued, but not required
  • 1+ years minimum work experience (kitchen preparation/cooking) in a restaurant or food service role is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food during shifts by following the specifications.
  • Prepares, washes, and cuts food that is to be cooked.
  • Prepares and cooks food according to instructions provided on food, order slips, or through verbal directions; verifies the quality and quantity of all orders.
  • Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with guest orders and at the highest quality.
  • Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking surfaces dishes, and utensils.
  • Measures food items and portions accurately.
  • Adheres to all quality standards, portion sizes, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures all food is properly prepared in a timely manner and to specifications.
  • Ensures proper storage of food by maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Keeps all menu items fresh and ensures they retain the highest quality.
  • Carries out opening and/or closing duties of their station(s).
  • Ensures equipment and workstation are adequately stocked, organized, and clean. Follows a “clean-as-you-go” philosophy.
  • Adheres to all sanitation regulations and health codes.
