About The Position

The Flexsys America, Monongahela, Pennsylvania plant has an immediate opening for a Team Manager to support production. Flexsys is a chemical manufacturing company with operations in the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. It produces tire additives that enhance the strength and durability of tires for leading manufactures around the world. We are a global supplier of rubber chemicals and solutions including insoluble sulfur, anti-degradants, and stabilizers. Requirements

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • 3 or more years’ experience employed in an industrial facility.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Union management or background preferred.
  • Strong sense of urgency; able to react to situations requiring immediate attention.
  • Able to plan effectively on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Able to use SAP and Microsoft Office software daily in conducting job duties.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong problem investigation skills.
  • Able & willing to listen to employees and manage conflict.
  • Strong coaching skills to drive employee improvement.
  • Able and willing to support management policy and procedural decisions.
  • Able to manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Able to make timely and appropriate decisions with limited information.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour days.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather, life and maneuver up to 50 lbs occasionally, and drive a vehicle within the plant; will be included in the respirator fit test program.
  • Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to interact cooperatively and constructively with customers, supervision, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to learn, remember and apply new skills and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and assists employees carrying out specified tasks.
  • Prepares and administers work schedules.
  • Plans staffing needs for future shifts (overtime, vacation, etc.).
  • Manage payroll time entry for employees, including overtime.
  • Handles disciplinary matters to include preparation of personnel reports and holding discussions with employees.
  • Serves as a point of contact for questions/requests/concerns. Provides technical direction or leadership and mentors new employees.
  • Leads or facilitates quality and problem-solving teams.
  • Coordinates the delivery of precise, accurate, and timely data.
  • Identifies and initiates improvement projects.
  • Directs, coordinates, and keeps track of multiple activities in a fast-paced environment and in safety-focused manner.
  • Works with other departments to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
