About The Position

The Team Leader is responsible for on-site operational leadership and execution of contract requirements within a secure federal installation environment. This role serves as the primary interface between the contractor workforce and Government representatives, ensuring mission alignment, contract compliance, and high-quality service delivery. The Team Leader oversees daily operations, workforce synchronization, and performance management while maintaining operational continuity in a dynamic, high-tempo environment. This position requires an active Top-Secret clearance to be considered. A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance
  • U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • 5–7+ years (within the last 10 years) of operations management or team leadership on a DoD/federal contract, including at least 2 consecutive years of experience; OR equivalent Military/Civil Service experience
  • Direct customer-facing experience with Government representatives (e.g., COR)
  • Proven ability to lead on-site operations within a secure installation environment
  • Experience supporting USSOCOM or SOF enterprise environments
  • Background in joint training, readiness, or exercise environments (JELC/JOPP/JTS)
  • Experience leading advisory-based teams in military environments
  • Familiarity with joint/SOF operational planning and multi-domain integration
  • Experience with CPARS, contract performance reporting, and reviews
  • Background in global deployment coordination and workforce management
  • Experience managing high-travel teams and mitigating fatigue/burnout
  • Prior leadership in complex, matrixed contractor organizations
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High attention to detail and accountability
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily tasking, priorities, and suspense tracking
  • Maintain real-time visibility of mission status and personnel coverage
  • Balance workload across team members based on evolving requirements
  • Monitor quality, timeliness, and professionalism of deliverables
  • Serve as primary on-site liaison to the COR and Government stakeholders
  • Support contract compliance, performance monitoring, and execution oversight
  • Coordinate travel impacts and cost considerations in alignment with contract requirements
  • Track workforce availability, coverage gaps, and surge requirements
  • Resolve administrative delays, tasking conflicts, and performance barriers
  • Ensure alignment with Government-approved schedules and priorities
  • Review and approve mission travel requests
  • Validate requirement justification, cost-effectiveness, and contract alignment
  • Provide weekly execution status updates to Program Manager
  • Identify risks and provide mitigation recommendations
  • Deliver performance insights and synchronize on-site and off-site leadership efforts
  • Lead and motivate a multi-functional workforce in a high-tempo environment
  • Enforce documentation accuracy and deliverable standards
  • Maintain operational effectiveness with minimal supervision
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
