About The Position

CatholicCare NT is a not-for-profit organisation providing social services and programs across the Northern Territory. The Wadeye office delivers a range of services including Children and Parenting, Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselling, Financial Wellbeing, Gambling Harm Education, Men’s Behaviour Change, and NO MORE programs. These programs aim to support the social and emotional wellbeing of the community through early intervention, harm minimisation, psychoeducation, practical financial support, and community education campaigns to reduce family and domestic violence. The Team Leader will oversee a small team and manage the delivery of support in Wadeye, focusing on Children and Parenting, AOD Counselling, and Men’s Behaviour Change programs. This role involves leading and mentoring staff, applying professional knowledge, and supporting direct client services to make a tangible difference in the community by strengthening capacity and building meaningful relationships.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Men's Family Violence (or related field)
  • Minimum five years' experience in relevant practice and team leadership
  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: Children and Parenting, Alcohol and Other Drugs and/ or Men's Behaviour Change
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills encompassing report writing, case note writing and supervision
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • A valid Australian Drivers Licence (C Class)
  • Must live and work in Wadeye, Northern Territory.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check.
  • Working with Children (Ochre) Card.
  • Social Media and Adverse Media Check.
  • International Criminal History check (ICHC) if resided overseas for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
