Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar function in distribution/manufacturing or logistics, required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is required, as English is the primary language

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Lean Principles through formal training preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Outbound area within the Regional Distribution Center.
  • Own team performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, environment, and people development in your area.
  • Plan and assign daily work, ensuring the team has competencies to perform daily work in responsible area.
  • Partner with supervisors to motivate and coach team members, supporting performance and engagement.
  • Respond to issues or deviations, secure continuity, and drive root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading problem-solving activities and promoting a lean mindset (5S, standardized work, structured problem solving).
  • Drive safety and ergonomic improvements in your area, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Document any non-conformance to procedures or work rules and communicate them to the supervisor (FLM).
  • Lead daily team meetings to share site and business updates and align on site specific performance and areas for improvement.
  • Own and maintain the team’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including creation, updates, and compliance monitoring.
  • Support timekeeping and attendance tracking for team members.
  • Empower teams to contribute ideas and improvements, approving and implementing quick kaizen initiatives where appropriate.
  • Support Supervisor to develop improvement plans for assigned areas that contribute to the overall Distribution Center improvement roadmap.
  • Be present on the shop floor daily, stepping in to perform frontline tasks when needed (e.g., covering absences or special assignments as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the FLM or Site Manager.
  • Act as an ambassador for Volvo Group values and culture in all daily activities.
