About The Position

Wellmark is seeking a Team Leader for Solution Delivery, focusing on Information Products within Enterprise Data & GenAI. This role involves leading and developing cross-functional Agile teams, owning people leadership, and driving delivery leadership. The position requires defining and driving product strategy, managing OKRs, and aligning roadmaps with stakeholder needs. Key deliverables include enterprise-grade services such as cloud-native, event-driven services and APIs, curated data products, knowledge agents, and agentic capabilities. The role also involves guiding modern engineering enablement, building stakeholder relationships, and managing vendor contributions and budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience managing the implementation and support of a technical solution through the full software development life cycle.
  • Experience in leadership, typically gained through formal or informal leadership that demonstrates knowledge of work processes, products and services, and leadership competencies.

  • Agile delivery tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira), source control + CI/CD fundamentals (e.g., GitHub repos/actions), and quality/automation discipline.
  • GitHub Copilot, Power BI/Power Automate/Copilot Studio, cloud AI/data platforms (e.g., AWS AI services, Azure data/AI services).
  • Experience in a Scaled Agile environment (SAFe) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in HROR highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop cross-functional Agile teams composed of Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Data/Analytics roles.
  • Own people leadership: coaching, development plans, performance management, hiring, team health, and building a trust-filled culture.
  • Drive delivery leadership: sprint health, capacity planning, dependency management, continuous improvement, and predictable execution against roadmap commitments.
  • Define and drive product strategy for the team’s products/capabilities, manage OKRs, prioritize outcomes, and align roadmap with stakeholder needs.
  • Deliver enterprise-grade services and capabilities including: Cloud-native, event-driven services and APIs, Curated data products for analytical consumption, Knowledge agents integrated into real business workflows, Agentic capabilities: implement repeatable engineering patterns and operating practices for building, running, and evolving agents.
  • Guide modern engineering enablement: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, secure-by-design principles, and scalable service patterns.
  • Build durable stakeholder relationships across the ART and enterprise forums; communicate progress clearly, surface risks early, and unblock delivery.
  • Manage vendor contributions and budget guardrails, ensuring delivery remains sustainable and aligned with financial expectations.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination and budgeting for staff and department(s) specific functions/services.
  • Manage and oversee multi-disciplined teams, responsible for the full software development life cycle, which includes planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of a software system or packaged vendor solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of standards, methodologies, change, release and incident management processes, policies, procedures, tools and infrastructure, in conjunction with Wellmark Technology leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the architecture, infrastructure, and technical solutions are designed for optimal reusability and integration, aligning with Wellmark technology, enables innovation and understand technology trends that can create business value in collaboration with Wellmark Technology leadership.
  • Develop and mentor multi-disciplined teams on business practices and technical capabilities.
  • Lead departmental compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, as well as with corporate policies.
  • Become a trusted advisor and advocate for developing and supporting solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Wellmark’s core business processes, systems, and collaborate with portfolio team to ensure alignment of initiatives.
  • Engage and collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to ensure the successful implementation and support of solutions.
  • Develop and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key software and vendor solution providers.
  • Ensure all are leading advocates for executing business solutions.
  • Evaluate and manage the business relationship; including but not limited to ensuring adherence to Wellmark guidelines and standards, oversight of vendor operational metrics, and the management of vendor performance.
  • Ensure the deployment and maintenance of business application solutions, are successfully integrated within Wellmark’s business environment.
