About The Position

This role is for a Team Leader in the Shipping department. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and basic knowledge of TPS. The Team Leader will be responsible for performing duties according to standardized work instructions, assisting in loading/unloading trucks, palletizing and wrapping loads, checking shipments, and kanban sorting. A key part of the role involves overseeing and auditing Team Members' performance, identifying potential problems, and assisting in corrective actions. The Team Leader will also be involved in departmental Kaizen activities, reviewing and maintaining work instructions, and assisting in the development of new instructions and training for new systems and team members. Ensuring EMS/QMS procedures are followed is also a responsibility. Other duties may be assigned by supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of TPS
• Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel & Twist
• Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. regularly; may occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs., but only with assistance from other team members or mechanical equipment
• Good communication skills
• Basic leadership skills
• No written corrective action
• No more than 6 points under Company Attendance Control System

• Prefer previous material handling or shipping experience

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in accordance to their standardized work instructions. Assist in loading/unloading of trucks, palletizing and wrapping loads, checking off shipments and kanban sorting.
• Responsible to oversee and audit Team Members performance of their jobs in accordance to standardized work instructions.
• Assist in the identification of potential problems or abnormal conditions and assist in the establishment of countermeasures and corrective actions. Involvement in departmental Kaizen activities.
• Review and maintain work instructions. Assist in updates and development of new instructions as required.
• Assist with the development of work instructions and training for implementation of New Systems.
• Assist in the training of new Team Members.
• Ensure EMS/QMS procedures are followed in performance of job duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
