The Team Leader Press is responsible for overseeing the setup and safe operation of the department, delegating authority and responsibility while maintaining control. This role involves organizing the department to meet production schedules and quality goals, and coordinating the efforts of individuals and the department. The Team Leader must be knowledgeable in the technical aspects of equipment, processes, and tools, and will collaborate with other manufacturing, maintenance, tool & die, and management members to ensure efficient plant operations. Key duties include completing paperwork accurately and timely, teaching, training, coaching, and assisting team members in setup procedures, and auditing team performance. The role requires verification of machine parameters, including safety features, and responsibility for periodic cycle checks. Promoting teamwork, quality, good housekeeping, and a safe work environment is essential. The Team Leader will assist Area Managers in cost-saving activities and has the authority to start and stop production, address operational and quality issues, and use measuring instruments to ensure customer requirements are met. They will lead daily team meetings, coordinate job assignments, and evaluate team member performance. Promoting a positive work environment and continuous improvement activities, while maintaining a safe working environment with proper PPE and adherence to safety rules, is crucial. The Team Leader ensures compliance with TS16949 standards and communicates effectively with other departments. Problem-solving skills and knowledge of the organization's structure, policies, and resources are necessary. The role involves working with area managers on job assignments, performance issues, maintenance, and inventory needs, while maintaining cooperative and respectful relationships with all team members.
