About The Position

The Team Leader is responsible for supporting the Supervisor or Manager in the daily operations of the department by assisting with workflow coordination, employee support and safety compliance. This position is a leadership role that serves as a resource for employees by helping resolve issues and support continuous improvement. The Team Leader helps ensure departmental goals are achieved safely and efficiently and are in alignment with company policies and customer requirements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Experience in CNC machining, maintenance, or quality systems depending on department assignment
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and safety-conscious
  • Ability to organize and complete tasks within deadlines
  • Willingness to work at a sustained pace and handle occasional pressure
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — safety glasses, protective footwear, ear plugs, face shield
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and drive for personal growth
  • Willing to work some overtime voluntarily and when requested

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership experience in a production environment
  • Computer skills with the ability to manage ERP systems, experience with JB2 a plus
  • Journeyman’s certificate in CNC machining, Industrial Maintenance or related machining field
  • Experience in ISO 9001

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervisor or Manager in overseeing daily operations within the assigned work area.
  • Develop a strong understanding of all jobs, processes, and requirements within the assigned department.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor or Manager regarding employee issues, staffing needs, workflow priorities, and tooling and material requirements.
  • Serve as an acting Supervisor or Manger during vacations, absences, and any time the Supervisor or Manager is unavailable.
  • Provide support to employees by answering questions and resolving day-to-day issues.
  • Review time and attendance records in preparation for payroll processing.
  • Review and approve/deny employee paid time off requests.
  • Assist the Supervisor or Manager with employee performance evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
