Oversees activities related to the purchase of material, material control, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions.

Requirements

Associate's Degree Material Sciences required
Experience materials management/inventory experience 3-5 years required
Courteous and respectful attitude to internal workforce and external customers.
Communicate accurately and appropriately.
Ability to handle difficult situations in a discreet and professional manner.
Hold self-accountable for professional practice.
Demonstrate knowledge of unit goals and is active in committees and projects to achieve these goals.
Assume responsibility for seeking out educational and professional opportunities for personal learning needs and growth as well as meeting mandatory education requirements.
Demonstrate excellent work attendance and actively participate in a variety of meetings and training sessions as required.
Complies with established policies and procedures and all health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Plans, schedules and monitors the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production.
Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and coordinates material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production.
Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
Negotiates lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.
May interpret laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for export/import control certifications and licenses.
