About The Position

This role involves overseeing housekeeping operations, including entering room status, completing checklists for cleanliness and condition, and managing required paperwork. The Team Leader identifies room assignments and cleaning types, inspects cleaned guest rooms, and responds to guest and inter-departmental requests. They must follow procedures for entering guest rooms, ensuring vacancy before entry. Additionally, this position assists management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model. The role requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies, reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completing safety training. Proper storage of flammable materials, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, and protecting company assets are also key. The Team Leader is expected to welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with appreciation. They must ensure quality expectations are met and identify opportunities for improving efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and listening to employee concerns are crucial. The role requires clear and professional communication, the ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects up to 55 pounds without assistance and over 55 pounds with assistance, and the capacity to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other machinery. Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, as well as standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for extended periods are necessary. The role also involves grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and using computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and locate information. Visually verifying and interpreting written documents is also part of the job. Other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors may be assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of related work experience.

  • No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Enter status of rooms cleaned.
  • Complete checklists to report cleanliness and condition of each assigned area.
  • Complete required Housekeeping paperwork.
  • Identify room assignments and type of cleaning required for each room.
  • Inspect guest rooms after being cleaned by Housekeeper.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
