About The Position

As an EVS Team Lead, you will play a key role in daily Environmental Services operations, maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will ensure thorough disinfection of patient care areas to prevent hospital infections and support efficient patient through timely room turnover. This role serves as a working lead providing guidance, training, workflow coordination, and quality oversight while collaborating closely with leadership and hospital staff.

Requirements

High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
1 year of experience working in an Environmental Service position required
One of the following is required within 1 year of hire or transfer into position: CHEST - Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician by the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), TCHEST - Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician Training Program by the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE)

Nice To Haves

2 years of experience working in Environmental Services within a hospital environment preferred
DOT - Department of Transportation for Hazardous Waste Generator preferred

Responsibilities

Oversee daily shift operations, staff assignments, and workflow; conduct quality inspections; maintain accurate logs and documentation; and ensure proper handling and disposal of all waste, including biohazardous and hazardous materials.
Coordinate room cleaning and discharge turnover to meet patient throughput goals.
Train and coach staff on infection prevention, cleaning standards, chemical safety, and ensure compliance with all isolation protocols.
Support staff scheduling and break coverage, and ensure timely reporting of injuries, incidents, and safety concerns.
