About The Position

The Database Administration Team Leader in Enterprise Technology provides direction, guidance, and instruction for a team of Database Administrators. This team specializes in supporting modern data strategies with Enterprise SQL databases, Caching, Event Streaming, and NoSQL databases. The Team Leader will work with internal and external clients to maintain systems, analyze data, and resolve technical issues in the team’s responsibility areas. This position requires a mix of technical and people skills, good operational experience, and outstanding customer relationship qualities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology in an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of experience leading team members
  • Enterprise level On-Prem and Cloud environment experience
  • Experienced in developing, updating, and maintaining processes and procedures for team members to follow or contribute to
  • Communicates well; both verbally and non-verbally
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively and with minimal direct supervision
  • This position requires on-site attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Mortgage and/or Financial Services industry experience
  • Strong understanding of multiple database platform technologies such as MSSQL, Postgres, NoSQL

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of their team making sure everyone is pulling their weight, distributing the workload evenly while ensuring motivation and performance levels are maintained
  • Lead by setting a good example (role model) - behavior consistent with words. Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
  • Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvement amongst the team. Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance. Intervene when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members and hold them accountable when goals and objectives are not met
  • Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues and progress toward goals.
  • Communicate to business clients, technical teams and management in a consistent manner making complex technical issues and solutions clear, simple and understandable
  • Manage vendor relationships and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Develop and maintain documentation including server build docs, configuration standards and infrastructure architecture
  • Provide capacity, performance, uptime and security reporting as requested. Implement industry best practices in terms of availability planning, security, scalability, and change management
