About The Position

At auxmoney, you will lead an autonomous agile team that builds and scales core digital lending solutions. In this role, you take disciplinary leadership for the team and support individual growth through clear feedback, coaching, and development, while staying actively involved in day-to-day engineering work. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Leads, other Team Leads, and engineering peers to align technical execution with business goals, while keeping a strong focus on quality, scalability, and operational excellence. Knowledge sharing, pragmatic decision-making, and continuous improvement are part of our culture, supported by cross-team collaboration and regular OpenSpace Days.

Requirements

Proven experience in a technical leadership role in an agile environment and know how to guide a team while staying close to the code.
Enjoy mentoring engineers, fostering growth, and giving clear and constructive feedback.
Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with coordination, prioritization, and alignment with stakeholders.
Several years of hands-on backend development experience with OOP languages.
Strong system design skills and experience building scalable and resilient systems.
Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-based architectures.
Experience designing, implementing, and improving CI/CD pipelines.
Strong background in monitoring and operational excellence and confident in debugging, tracing, and performance analysis.
Deep knowledge of API design and management including versioning, security, and monitoring.
Can speak and write English at a professional level.

Nice To Haves

PHP with Symfony plus MySQL is a strong advantage.
German skills are a plus.
Domain knowledge in Credit Risk and Pricing, including data-driven decisioning and scoring.

Responsibilities

Lead an autonomous agile team by example, guide technical decision-making, and take ownership of architecture and delivery outcomes.
Support engineers in their growth through regular feedback, coaching, and transparent expectations, and create an environment where the team can do great work.
Actively contribute production code, review pull requests, resolve tickets, and support incident handling in day-to-day engineering work.
Design and implement new features and architectural improvements with a focus on scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
Set clear technical standards and drive testing strategies across unit, integration, load, and end-to-end testing.
Strengthen observability and reliability through monitoring, debugging, tracing, and performance analysis, and help improve incident response.
Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and engineering teams to translate goals into robust technical execution and sensible trade-offs.
Create, maintain, and review RFCs, ADRs, and API documentation to make decisions transparent and scalable across teams.
