About The Position

The Education, Career, and Enrichment (ECE) department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system. The Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program seeks a team leader of employment that will oversee employment and programming services for the program. The ideal candidate will be someone who seeks the opportunity to train, support and inspire staff as well as develop ideas for programming. The ACES program serves young men ages 16-24 who are residing in East Harlem and the South Bronx and are need of intensive supports to mitigate the supervisor and support the professional development of youth workers in the Bronx and Harlem locations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience of contracts and small teams
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to work with diverse team and remain highly organized
  • Ability to apply youth development principles and commitment to work from a strengths-based perspective
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • proficient in use of Google Docs
  • Experience with developing relationships with community-based organizations and service providers
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and develop ACES employment and programming staff in Harlem and the Bronx
  • Hire and supervise work crew supervisors for ACES
  • Lead team to fully implement the ACES program and achieve targeted benchmarks and outcomes
  • Promote staff development and competence through training, coaching and structured supervision in motivational interviewing, youth development, engagement, young adult learning, education and employment for youth and young adults, and trauma-informed care
  • Collaborate and develop strong relationships with employer partners and other stakeholders
  • Act as an escalation contact for staff in addressing complex and risk management situations, ensuring staff and participant safety and effective action and solutions informed by crisis intervention, resolution, and knowledge to disrupt and respond to threats and potential violence
  • Facilitate team meetings and individual supervisions
  • Ensure the timely documentation of all services by staff in databases
  • Participate in weekly in person ACES team meetings in the Bronx and Harlem
  • Develop and maintain partnerships for referral services and opportunities for youth
  • Collaborate with other team leaders to ensure successful programming for participants
  • Advance the program’s mission and values and adherence to fidelity standards
  • Meet with Director for supervision
  • Other duties as assigned by Director
