About The Position
John F. Murphy Homes is seeking a compassionate and organized Team Leader to provide leadership and direct support within one of our residential programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position combines hands-on caregiving with staff supervision and administrative responsibilities to ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging home environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of direct care experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency).
- Valid Maine driver’s license with good driving record and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to complete required agency training (First Aid, CPR, Gentle Teaching, etc.).
Nice To Haves
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and daily support to individuals, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
- Lead and mentor residential staff, ensuring quality services and teamwork.
- Oversee household operations including scheduling, documentation, budgeting, and compliance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
- Coordinate care with medical and behavioral professionals as needed.
- Ensure staff training and adherence to agency and state regulations.
- Participate in on-call support and fill in for staff when necessary.
