About The Position

The Team Leader - Converting is responsible for setting up and operating converting lines to ensure high-quality product output. This role involves reviewing order specifications, ensuring necessary materials are available, and monitoring the production process to identify and correct any sub-standard product. The Team Leader also performs routine maintenance, completes production paperwork, and may train team members on operating procedures, safety, and quality policies. Additionally, this role involves identifying opportunities for improvement within the Converting Department and learning equipment adjustments. The Team Leader is expected to be capable of leading a safe and productive shift in the absence of a Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years’ manufacturing experience in a production environment
  • Able to work any 8-hour shift

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate converting lines and support high-quality product.
  • Review order specifications to ensure the packaging supplies, labels and raw materials are available to produce a product that meets the customer's specifications.
  • Observe and check finished goods coming off the production lines and take immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
  • Remove and package finished rolls from machine.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure it is operating properly and under shift supervisor oversight performs routine troubleshooting and operator-level maintenance on equipment.
  • Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
  • Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor may train team members operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
  • Periodically follow-up with new hires and temporary workers to ensure they are properly trained.
  • Occasionally lead organized training efforts for their shift such as Big Joe training and other new process implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the Converting Department and assist’s Supervisors, who are responsible for hands-on training.
  • Learn and comprehend all equipment so adjustments can be made if/when needed.
  • Capable of leading a safe and productive shift in the absence of a Supervisor.
  • Perform all other functions as needed.
