About The Position

The Centralized Prep Team Leader coordinates the day-to-day functions within the teams in centralized soil and centralized water prep. This position is also responsible for carrying out tasks in both prep areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Technical Diploma in Chemistry or related science is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Work-scheduling and day to day planning of activities within the team
  • Ensure the monitoring of priority turnaround time requirements and expiring hold times are considered when receiving samples (sample triage)
  • Communicate short hold times and priority samples to the appropriate departments
  • Leads by example and takes initiative during times of unexpected workloads and in times of staff shortages by requesting.
  • Coordination of team personnel and resources to meet output per hour (OPH) targets and quality
  • Informing Department Manager of any issues related to production, quality, equipment, supplies, or facility needs
  • Ensuring all tasks and procedures and record-keeping across the team are carried out as specified in the documented methods and/or procedures
  • Acting as a trainer and mentor for staff within the team
  • Addressing day-to-day technical issues related to production and operation, or enlisting help from Technical Specialists
  • Providing input on current team section methods and procedures for writing, review, and updating as required
  • Provide feedback to the Department Manager on all aspects of team members’ performance
  • Identifying training needs of team members
  • Promoting safety awareness and practices
  • Motivating team members to adopt a client-centric approach to their efforts
  • Assisting in the coordination of staff sharing between teams or departments when needed
  • Leading and suggesting a positive change in the operations of the team and department
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
