As a Team Leader in Central Sterile, you will provide a variety of indirect patient-related services. You will assist and monitor the team in preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment. You will maintain the sterile processing areas and receive and distribute surgical supplies and equipment within Southeast Georgia Health System. You will be responsible for: Assisting, monitoring and supporting the Central Sterile team in preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment; maintaining the sterile processing areas; and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment to areas within the facility. Preparing and distributing surgical case carts according to physician preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team. Responding to phone and/or in person requests by locating and delivering commodities to surgery or the requesting department in a timely manner. Following manufacturer’s instructions and organizational policies and procedures when handling cleaning solutions, supplies and equipment and procedures to safely operate equipment used in the sterile processing areas. Monitor, assist and support the team to ensure that established PAR levels, package/supply integrity and expiration dates are accurate and replaced as necessary. Conducting inventory, receiving, monitoring, and distributing medical and surgical supplies, equipment and instrumentation to and from sterile processing to other areas within the facility. Monitoring supply par levels, the package/supply integrity, and all expiration dates and facilitates replacement as necessary. Works closely with Surgery, Supply Chain and Materials Management to promote teamwork, efficiency and flow of processes for day-to-day operations. Performs special functions and duties assigned by Surgical Services leadership.
