About The Position

This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in office furniture installation, as well as assisting with the installation process itself. The Team Lead will play a crucial part in ensuring high-quality work product and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years of work experience
  • Office furniture installation experience preferred
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with many interruptions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak to groups effectively and maintain audience interest
  • Able to learn and pass safety driver training program
  • Able to travel to customer and other job sites
  • Able to work overtime with little advance notice, when needed
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, excessive heat, cold and precipitation
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Regularly required to use hands and arms to reach and handle product
  • Frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit/or and walk stairs
  • Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds approx. 4 hours a day
  • Required to carry pieces weighing up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
  • Required to push and pull pieces with a force up to 100 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily assignment, floor plans, installation drawings & instructions with Project Manager and/or Customer Service Coordinator to determine method and sequence of installation projects
  • Drive company vehicles complying with McCoy-Rockford’s driving standards, and maintaining a clear driving record
  • In the absence of Project Manager, act on their behalf to continually meet customer and site specific requirements
  • Assist in building strong customer relationships by providing feedback to the Project Manager and Customer Service Coordinator regarding customer expectations
  • Maintain company property assigned to crew; ensuring it is accounted for and properly taken care of
  • In the absence of a Field Supervisor, conduct Tool Box meeting to prepare crew for daily assignment
  • Check product for discrepancies and damage and documents and communicate issues to responsible parties
  • Monitor and enforce company rules, regulations, and safety requirements and attend monthly safety meetings
  • Identify items to be included in punch lists, also clean up and repair punch list items
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of individual job assignments and complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Supervise small installation crews on a variety of day-to-day installation projects
  • Review their work to ensure the delivery of high quality work product
  • Participate in evaluation of employee job performance
  • Initiate learning opportunities; train and develop crew members on products and installation procedures to meet client expectations
  • Complete and maintain customer site specific badge requirements
