About The Position

The Post Harvest Team Lead will lead their team in meeting day-to-day production goals while maintaining a high-quality cannabis product consistent with GlassHouse Botanics standards and all regulatory requirements. While previous experience in the cannabis industry would be an asset, it is not required— we understand and appreciate that great leaders can come from nearly any background. We place value on our leaders’ people skills and ability to implement continuous improvement within their teams. We can teach you everything you need to know about medical cannabis processing; however, leadership skills are essential.

  • Must be 19+ years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the cannabis industry.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Botany/Horticulture/Agriculture or a related field.
  • Cannabis production and processing experience.
  • Health Canada Security Clearance.
  • Knowledge of GPP, GACP, and EU-GMP.

Responsibilities

  • Working in coordination with the Assistant Team Leads to execute the team strategy as assigned by the Post Harvest Supervisor.
  • Supervision of the designated team, while still performing assigned duties.
  • Leading by example, including all aspects of post harvest, from harvest day to destruction, sanitation to record keeping and exceptional hygiene practices.
  • Supporting any people related challenges that may arise on the team.
  • Collaborating with other teams as needed.
  • Coordinating training activities to ensure the team is trained prior to completing each task.
  • Ensuring tasks carried out by the team are in accordance with all policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring recordkeeping is accurate and correctly completed in a timely manner.
  • Reporting any observed deviations from procedure to the Quality department.
  • Developing and reviewing work instructions and procedures, as required.
  • Following and enforcing Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in and overseeing wet trimming, dry trimming, tray drying, and packaging of fresh and dried cannabis flower.
  • Managing sanitation, equipment assembly/disassembly, and cleanliness of all post‑harvest work areas.
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation for sanitation, processing SOPs, sampling protocols, testing, and outgoing shipments.
  • Conducting regular equipment and material quality checks to ensure they are functional and effective.
  • Monitoring workflow productivity to ensure quality and efficiency targets are met.
