Requirements

• Leadership skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, and model the character qualities listed above
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong English verbal communication skills
• Basic math functions
• Good English reading and writing skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (reach truck, forklift etc) safely and efficiently
• Ability to use computer software programs such as WMS system, Microsoft products etc.
• Previous warehouse and leadership experience
• High School or equivalent
• MHE Certification required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment. On-site training will be provided if required by the position

Responsibilities

• Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next’s Standard Operating Procedures
• Assist the supervisor with leading a team of Warehouse Associates, providing guidance, training and performance feedback; Promote company policies and procedures, and model company values
• Allocate warehouse activities (e.g. receiving, picking, replenishment, loading, inventory control etc.); coordinate labour requests for other departments as required; effectively prepare for shift, and hand off duties to the next shift, ensuring the next shift set up for success
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the warehouse team, management and other departments to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following and promoting company policies and safety procedures and ensuring and a clean as you go mentality
• Provide support to the warehouse team by assuming duties of warehouse associates as required to meet productivity targets and maintain team morale
• As a member of the team, there may be other tasks assigned that aren’t listed above
