About The Position

This is a full-time, night shift position for a Team Lead in Manufacturing, located at the Home Office in La Porte, IN. The role requires a high school education and involves directing, assigning, and training associates, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and maintaining quality and performance standards. The Team Lead is responsible for food safety and understanding requirements for identity-preserved products.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Must obtain Sr Production Qualification within 6 months of becoming a Team Lead
  • First Aid/CPR/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens Training (To be provided by Safety Manager)
  • Must be able to express themselves clearly and completely, with co-workers and managers alike, in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to coach associates to recognize when to react to problems and demonstrate the initiative to take appropriate or reasonable action depending on the nature of the problem.
  • Ability to problem solve and escalate issues to the shift coach when needed.
  • Must be able to meet all of the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, Assign or Train Associates
  • Assign associates to specific production lines and jobs, coordinating relief for breaks, lunches and absences.
  • Evaluate and provide training for continuous improvement.
  • Provide positive leadership for the team in development of goals.
  • Perform required shift start-up and tooling checks.
  • Participate in Team start up meeting at beginning of shift.
  • Track Team goals and update production sheet on an hourly basis.
  • Learn and follow all safety procedures, ensuring that all associates follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Take action on all unsafe conditions and implement corrective procedures.
  • Ensure that each team member is educated on quality standards.
  • Perform first box inspection and quality checks during shift as required.
  • Initiate corrective action measures for non-standardized work.
  • Provide necessary documentation regarding associate issues.
  • Maintain quality attendance and performance.
  • Participate in any leadership development trainings and/or coaching provided by ALC.
  • Demonstrates an attitude of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for food safety as related to the position, knowledge of requirements for identity-preserved products such as Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, Organic, Gluten Free Certification etc.
