About The Position

At Alabama Outdoors, we’re serious about providing an incredible guest experience in an active, fun, lifestyle apparel environment. We are looking for a passionate, friendly, energetic, and engaging Team Lead who can both serve guests directly and step up to support store leadership. Team Leads set the example on the sales floor by modeling excellent service, motivating the team, and helping keep daily operations running smoothly. Previous retail or guest service experience is strongly preferred, with leadership or supervisory experience a plus. Position Summary Create an incredible guest experience for every single person who comes into our stores. Lead by example by engaging and interacting with each guest in an enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable manner. Assist in creating an upbeat, guest-first, active store environment. Serve and lead every guest and team member with next-level hospitality.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50-pound boxes or racks
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to confidently interact with guests as they browse the store
  • Comfort with Point-of-Sale systems and handling guest transactions
  • Willingness to support e-commerce processing and order fulfillment as part of daily operations

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail or guest service experience is strongly preferred, with leadership or supervisory experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform essential retail responsibilities such as folding, steaming, hanging, and merchandising apparel items and accessories on the sales floor.
  • Assist guests at the register by completing transactions accurately and efficiently through the Point-of-Sale system.
  • Remain active and engaged, with the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Consistently interact with guests throughout your shift to create a welcoming and service-focused environment.
  • Support in-store e-commerce operations, including order processing and fulfillment.
  • Provide direction and delegation to team members, ensuring tasks are completed to standard.
  • Lead as the point person when managers are not present — helping resolve guest concerns, supporting teammates, and making operational decisions as appropriate.
  • Become the expert on key brands to assist guests with the knowledge they need before purchasing a product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall store operations.
  • Ability to delegate and direct team members effectively.
  • Ability to be led and to lead — remain coachable and supportive of store leadership.
  • Act as MOD (Manager on Duty) when Store Leadership isn’t present.
  • Serve as an example of store expectations, guest service, and leadership.
