About The Position

The Team Lead provides technical leadership and day-to-day support for plant operations, helping ensure equipment is operated safely, effectively, and in alignment with plant standards. This role supports TPM progress by guiding area activity teams, reinforcing accountability, and helping build a sustainable culture of growth, development, and team engagement. The Team Lead plays an important role in improving plant performance across safety, productivity, cost, quality, and sustainability through the use of TPM methodologies. This hourly position is critical to the successful operation of the Summit Roofing Plant and reports to the shift Front Line Leader.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two or more years of manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
• Must remain drug and alcohol free
• A demonstrated ability to lead and influence people in a positive manner is required.
• Demonstrated TPM experience strongly preferred.
• Must read, write and speak English
• Must understand verbal and written instructions
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to multitask
• Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
• Must work well in a team environment
• Must be self-motivated to work independently and in a group, and meet targets
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations

• Must operate necessary software to successfully perform job responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Models the Owens Corning Safety Stand and complies with all plant rules, safety requirements, and environmental procedures.
• Participates in plant safety, quality, autonomous maintenance, TPM, and housekeeping programs, including Focused Improvement events, Safety Committee meetings, and Pillar meetings.
• Performs work in a manner that reduces environmental impact and supports proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
• Coordinates the shift Daily Management System (DMS) and supports effective communication of shift priorities, concerns, and follow-up actions.
• Drives plant-wide TPM progress by engaging area activity teams and supporting execution of plant and autonomous maintenance master plans.
• Coordinates area activity team tasks and holds teams accountable for assigned actions, documentation, and deliverables.
• Audits TPM area activity boards, CILTs, step progress documentation, and related deliverables to ensure standards are maintained.
• Conducts TPM training to support autonomous maintenance step progression and team capability development.
• Communicates safety concerns, equipment problems, and abnormal conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Leads the shift and makes timely decisions in the absence of the Front Line Leader.
• Administers corrective action for production employees in accordance with the Summit Corrective Action Policy.
• Demonstrates flexibility to changing priorities and works 8-hour or 12-hour schedules as business needs require.
• Understands customer needs and takes appropriate action to support those needs.
• Identifies and participates in learning opportunities to build expertise and support continued development.
• Ensures standard operating procedures and processes are in place, understood, and followed.
• Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the Front Line Leader.
