About The Position

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for an Evening Team Lead for Atlantic City. Under the direction of the Director of Unhoused, the Team Lead will assist the Outreach Workers with finding and identifying unhoused individuals through direct street outreach, advocacy, and assist with connecting to services and housing. 90% of time will be spent out in the community engaging unhoused individuals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of poverty and homelessness causes trends, issues and solutions.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong Judgement and problem-solving abilities to work with citizens, businesses, and others in emotional/stressful situations.
  • Strong expertise in strength-based, solution-focused practice.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
  • Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular, outreach in designated County (i.e. streets, encampments, transit hubs, etc.) during evening hours
  • Document and maintain up-to-date information on services provided and funds expended in the Homeless Client Information System (HMIS).
  • Manages team response to community concerns, oversees Code Red/Blue alerts, and identifies new hotspots and encampments.
  • Partners with Outreach Workers using harm reduction and Housing First approaches to engage individuals, assess needs, and determine appropriate housing placement
  • Maintain and promote strong relationships with designated county agencies serving homeless populations, including health care organizations, re-entry programs, and mainstream entitlement programs.
