About The Position

Gildan is a leading manufacturer of everyday basic apparel. This role interacts with supervisors to assist in the operational aspects of the DC workflow. The Team Lead helps guide team members on daily tasks while working with limited direct supervision. They handle cartons in accordance with business needs by performing pallet picks, case picks, pallet building, and putting cases on the conveyor. This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team. The Team Lead ensures predetermined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and production goals are met, seeks ways to continuously improve processes, and communicates/provides feedback to supervisors regularly. They handle materials manually and with the aid of both non-powered (pallet jacks, hand trucks) and/or powered equipment (walkie, reach truck, 589 transloader, counterbalance). Advanced knowledge of WMS is required, and they perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 Years related experience
  • Work requires almost continuous moderate physical effort OR frequent heavy physical effort (several times a day).
  • Significant exposure to one disagreeable condition OR occasional exposure to several disagreeable conditions/one very disagreeable condition.
  • Little or no exposure to hazards; very limited risk of injury or health problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred
  • Advanced Warehouse Management System experience preferred
  • Prior advanced experience operating Radio Frequency (RF) equipment, i.e. scanners, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication required
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and build relationships with others
  • Hearing is required for audible instructions, safety warnings, and equipment operations
  • Must be able to stand, squat, bend, and lift 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day
  • Vision is required in order to operate a RF keyboard and/or scanner, and to complete required data entry.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language effectively
  • Must be able to work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be safety oriented to prevent injury to self and others.

Responsibilities

  • May be required to operate all powered equipment within their area of responsibility.
  • Ensures predetermined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and production goals are met.
  • Seeks ways to continuously improve processes and communicates/provides feedback to supervisors on a regular basis.
  • Handles materials manually and with the aid of both non-powered (pallet jacks, hand trucks) and/or powered equipment (walkie, reach truck, 589 transloader, counterbalance).
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
