About The Position

This position will provide support and assistance to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager. The Team Lead will participate in the overall operational success, guidance of staff and any merchandise processes performed in various areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school education required
  • WHMIS training, required
  • Forklift license, required
  • Experienced with warehouse, transportation and dock management systems and RF devices.
  • Strong organizational, inventory and basic mathematic skills
  • Good command, both verbal and written, English skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to meet goals and achieve results as a self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building professional relationships internally and externally
  • Proven outstanding leadership and management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills,
  • Ensuring the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and punctuality
  • Act as a role model for DSV values and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Assign duties and responsibilities in such a way as to maintain and improve both productivity and quality
  • Runs the team efficiently while helping in the training of staff to maintain industry standards
  • Assist in the employee performance evaluations and reviews
  • Suggest and implement process changes to improve productivity
  • Off-load and deconsolidate LTL and LCL freight, including manual material handling
  • Label, weigh, and cube freight
  • Load pick-up carriers
  • Coordinates the cargo handling for CBSA and CFIA inspections
  • Ensures that a high level of care is taken during all cargo handling and that industry best practices are followed
  • Produces and maintains handling reports for related exams and inspections including; off-load reports, damage reports, stop work orders, re-load report and photos/video
  • Follow-up on Health and Safety initiatives and daily checklists/reports
  • Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock
  • Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable report
  • Support and back-up warehouse co-coordinators
  • Supports organizational commitment to ISO 9001
  • Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.
  • Staff are required to ensure that their day-to-day activities embrace sustainability, Health and safety therefore reducing the impact upon the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace.
