About The Position

The Lead Trailer Truck Wash Specialist is responsible for leading the daily operations of the truck wash team while ensuring all trailers, equipment, and designated wash areas are cleaned according to company standards for safety, quality, and sanitation. In addition to performing all duties of a Truck Wash Specialist, this role serves as a working lead by providing guidance, training, and support to team members while promoting a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Multi-task oriented and a team player.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to read and interpret English language documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with other Team Members of the organization.
  • Ability to perform basic Auditing/Inventory & ordering supplies.
  • Ability to calculate basic math skills using Metric & Standard units of measure
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can physically be standing on your feet a majority of the day with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Available to work Monday thru Friday, with some weekends and holiday work required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a Trailer Truck Wash Specialist while serving as the lead for daily truck wash operations.
  • Wash and disinfect company transport tractors and trailers in accordance with company, USDA, animal welfare, food safety, and biosecurity policies and regulations.
  • Wash external customer tractors and trailers as requested by management while adhering to all applicable company and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate the Bio-Dryer according to company procedures and USDA, animal welfare, and food safety standards.
  • Follow all biosecurity protocols to minimize the risk of disease transmission between the trailer wash facility and company farms.
  • Perform wet mopping, laundering, and drying of work clothing and other assigned sanitation tasks to support biosecurity efforts.
  • Inspect trailers after washing to verify cleanliness and ensure company quality standards are met before release.
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain the separator system while ensuring proper pit levels are maintained.
  • Order and maintain inventory of truck wash supplies, including but not limited to soaps, disinfectants, cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and replacement parts.
  • Train, coach, and develop new and existing Truck Wash Specialists on proper cleaning procedures, equipment operation, biosecurity protocols, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Assist with assigning daily work and monitoring team performance to ensure productivity and compliance with company expectations.
  • Serve as a resource for team members by providing guidance, answering questions, and reinforcing standard operating procedures.
  • Fill in for the Lead or other team members during PTO, emergencies, staffing shortages, or increased operational demands to ensure continuous department coverage.
  • Be willing and able to travel out of state for one to two weeks at a time for initial training and/or temporary coverage at other company-owned trailer wash facilities. Company-paid travel expenses will be provided.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all company safety policies.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and safety issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
  • Meet all bio-security requirements as outlined by Animal Care policy/ procedure.
