Requirements

  • CPA designation.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in tax within a public practice environment.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience with corporate and personal tax compliance, tax research, and an interest in tax planning and advisory.
  • Eagerness to learn, seek feedback, and take on new challenges.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Enthusiasm for tax, public accounting, and team leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrolled in the CPA In‑Depth Tax Course (Parts I, II, and III), with progress towards completion considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor staff accountants on tax compliance and advisory engagements.
  • Act as the main point of contact between clients and your team.
  • Take ownership of complex tax returns and research projects with growing independence.
  • Develop tax engagement plans and budgets and monitor progress to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Motivate and support your team’s career development.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in delivering value-added advice to clients.
  • Participate in internal committees and help implement firm initiatives.
  • Lead pre-engagement planning and deliver presentations or training in your area of tax expertise.
