The Team Lead - Sportsbook Trading will report to the Trading Manager and will lead, train, and guide a team of traders based in the US. This role is responsible for price creation, price management, risk monitoring, communication, and optimizing profitability. The Team Lead will ensure the team adheres to US regulatory and licensing requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices while achieving business financial objectives. This position requires developing a strong understanding of our trading system architecture and its integration with third-party suppliers. The role may involve creating innovative, consistent, and bespoke pricing tailored to specific markets and demographics. A deep knowledge of sports betting, odds compilation, diverse trading strategies, and hands-on experience in a sportsbook trading environment are essential.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and guide a team of traders based in the US.
Ensure price creation, price management, risk monitoring, and communication.
Optimize profitability for the sportsbook.
Ensure the team adheres to US regulatory and licensing requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Achieve the business's financial objectives.
Develop a strong command of the trading system architecture and its interfaces with third-party suppliers.
Deliver innovative, consistent, and bespoke pricing tailored to specific markets and demographics.
Ensure Sport Owners perform to standard in trading and risk oversight, including monitoring real-time exposure, identifying sharp action, setting appropriate limits, and protecting margin.
Step in directly where coverage, escalation, or quality gaps arise, especially during high-volume or live-event periods.
Oversee how the team manages, assesses, and optimizes third-party odds and data feeds.
Resolve escalated feed issues and ensure bespoke pricing is created where required.
Review competitor benchmarking for pricing competitiveness, market uptime, and feature parity.
Consolidate findings to shape roadmap priorities with product, quant, and trading management.
Ensure the team produces data-driven analysis identifying value leaks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Compile reporting for senior management.
Coach and develop junior and mid-level traders directly.
Ensure Sport Owners are sharing best practices in bookmaking, modeling, and risk principles across the wider desk.
Act as the primary point of contact between the team's Sport Owners and product, quant, technology, and operations partners, ensuring insights and requirements flow both ways.
