About The Position

Under general supervision as a Team Lead, coordinates the daily support operations of a single clinical area or group. Primarily acts as a Medical Assistant and performs the full duties associated with this role. Is a resource for other support staff and may fill in for staff as needed to provide appropriate coverage of the department. Takes lead role in ensuring department workflow is of a high quality. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit
  • Experience typically acquired through 2+ years in a clinical setting with 1+ years as a Medical Assistant (a bachelor’s or associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience).
  • In depth knowledge of specialty’s area
  • Proven solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals
  • Proven sound judgment with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.

Nice To Haves

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is solidly preferred if the job is in a patient-facing clinical capacity
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a skilled clinical/administrative support resource for team members
  • Assumes leadership duties while performing nonexempt support tasks
  • Evaluates daily schedules and ensures coverage during absences
  • Implements and adjusts operational procedures within established guidelines
  • Guides staff on workflow execution and suggests improvements
  • Supports performance reviews and monitors service quality (e.g., phone systems)
  • Acts as point of contact for patient issues and may supervise in manager’s absence
