About The Position

Lead daily activities of the work group while collaborating with team members as directed by the Quality Supervisor, by performing the following duties. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or up to two years related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team follows safety policies & procedures.
  • Track, measure, and enforce team’s safety goals such as injuries, safety improvements, etc.
  • Accountable for meeting Hillphoenix’s annual safety goal.
  • Ensure team follows policies & procedures.
  • Establish task times (Mechanical/Electrical/Final Walk each job) and measure execution efficiency. Typical process metrics or tasks: Job Assignments, Job Efficiency, Material Review, Workforce Utilization.
  • Send out updates and reviews of equipment status.
  • Assist Quality Supervisor on Integra PTSS approvals.
  • Move jobs from Inspection Integra status to Ship prep as needed.
  • Participate in conducting a clear hand off between shifts.
  • Ensure processes are followed (i.e., Safety culture, ETQ reliance, Audit Systems, Fast problem-solving methods, and structured inspection training).
  • Support cross-functional teams as needed (i.e., Supplier and Customer Quality Engineers, etc.).
  • Represent Quality team during production meetings.
  • Validate each completed job pack for accuracy prior to Data Entry.
  • Request and document U-1A Form.
  • Ensure team performance meets targeted Standard Hours with the expectation of continuous improvement in hours needed.
  • Assign and execute daily quality tasks to meet production schedule. (standard hour execution).
  • Receives and execute daily work instructions from Quality Supervisor (i.e., delivery to internal customers on time and lead time reduction).
  • Ensure OJT Training documents are reviewed and updated.
  • Perform OJT training of newly hired associates.
  • Collaborate with teams to conduct associate development and continuous improvement. (i.e., Skills Matrix, Basic Lean, training needs to team / associates)
  • Conduct huddle board Meetings.
  • Responsible to assign team tasks (Safety, Quality, Productivity, 6S and Huddle communication)
  • Escalate part-related or engineering issues to applicable functions (Stock room, Quality Supervisor, Engineering, etc.).
  • Review process opportunities/successes with Quality Supervisor.
  • Support Quality Supervisor, Production Supervisor, and Production Manager to meet/exceed goals.
  • Foster teamwork and work alongside associates to meet and exceed goals.
  • Ensure that communication flows properly through visual floor communication tools (i.e., Huddle Board)
  • Perform Quality inspections or Quality Gate functions when needed (absenteeism, workforce shortage, support urgent needs, etc.).
  • Encourage the development of new skills and interests among team members.
  • Supports and trains the new standard operating procedures.
