About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of personal performance and attendance. The Team Lead will train and validate manufacturing associates on safety, quality, and productivity, ensuring they are properly trained and safe. This position involves moving associates to balance line work, working with supervisors to remove bottlenecks, and exhibiting leadership in rate and technical performance. The Team Lead will utilize a root cause logical thinking system, align the team by balancing work cells, and ensure associates are assigned tasks that allow them to succeed. They will be available to employees for technical assembly questions and production concerns, and will work cross-functionally with other departments as needed. The Team Lead will support new employees, ensure safety, quality, and productivity in their area, and maintain takt. They will perform technical job responsibilities such as takt sheet maintenance, QAS and process checklist completion, status sheet maintenance, entering tags (Yellow/Red, DM), and print board maintenance. Additionally, they will assist the Production Supervisor with technical performance information, conduct Safety/Gemba walks, sustain 5S, and ensure process sheets are followed. The role also involves supporting new programs, contributing to team efforts for quality production, complying with company policies, and acting as a backup for the supervisor, including attending morning meetings and processing reports or attendance when the supervisor is absent. The ability to work mandatory overtime is required.

Requirements

  • Exhibit personal performance and attendance at the highest level.
  • Train and validate/certify manufacturing associates on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Move manufacturing associates to balance line work.
  • Work with supervisors to remove bottlenecks from the workplace.
  • Exhibit leadership in the area associated with rate and technical performance.
  • Utilize a root cause logical thinking system that simultaneously presents problem solutions along with problem recognitions.
  • Align the team by balancing work cells with proper manpower to meet takt requirements.
  • Assure the people are given the assignments that best allow them to succeed in the area for that particular day’s challenge.
  • Be immediately available to employees in the work area to answer technical assembly questions, address production concerns and other technical work functions.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments to complete tasks, when needed.
  • Support transitioning new employees to the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure safety, quality and productivity is met in area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for maintaining takt for area of responsibility.
  • Perform all technical job responsibilities in a timely manner, including, but not limited to: Takt sheet maintenance, QAS and process checklists are complete and being followed, Status sheet maintenance, Enter Yellow/Red Tags as necessary, enter line moves on the system, and enter DM tags.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor in technical performance information on area employees.
  • Print board maintenance.
  • Work with Production Supervisor to take Safety/Gemba walks and sustain an acceptable level of 5S.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Assure process sheets are being followed and signed off upon.
  • Support new programs or projects.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Act as back up for supervisor. This includes, but is not limited to attending morning meetings, processing reports and/or attendance when supervisor is not present.
