About The Position

Supervise Project Schedulers in their execution of normal assigned project scheduling and analysis duties. Oversee metrics development and reporting. Lead monthly multi department schedule reviews and provide project and program status reporting as necessary. Manage employee performance and development and provide necessary feedback and corrective action. Provide integrated project schedule management to the Project Controls Organization. Seamlessly integrate project management methodology, processes, tools, techniques, and information management systems from / to the project schedule system to predicatively manage the integrated project schedule throughout the project life cycle. Integrate other subsidiary project management systems with schedule development and management; integrate schedule management processes with the other core management systems; scope, cost, schedule and risk management. Develop and maintain integrated project baselines which represent the integrated project plan for achieving the project objectives. Perform integrated schedule initiation processes using project quality (objective management) and risk management processes. Progressively elaborate the project schedule integrating scope and resource estimating as a function of the project timeline to develop the integrated project baselines. Perform schedule status, schedule assessment, schedule analysis, and generate optimum path forward planning and provide schedule recommendations to the project management team using predictive based (opportunity based) schedule management. Direct the development and progression of the project schedule throughout the project life cycle using acquired Planning and Scheduling Subject Matter Expertise and all of the project management knowledge areas and project leadership. Apply optimum schedule development techniques and management strategy and tailored schedule management planning; tailor the schedule system architecture, apply risk-driven and risk configuration control: schedule activities, schedule logic, activity resource estimates, activity duration estimates, schedule network analysis and expected monetary value and schedule value definition (planned value-PV). Direct schedule assessment and analysis, creating more accurate and successful project schedules and increasing the probability of achieving the project schedule objectives. Integrate schedule development and project management capability and competence using industry standards (PMI, Construction Management Industry, etc.) and best practice application to integrate knowledge areas for optimum application. Lead project stakeholders and the project management team to integrate cost, risk and quality management with schedule management. Utilize effective stakeholder management and communication management processes to extract accurate project data and disseminate relevant and timely schedule information to enhance project decision making. Integrate tool proficiency and versatility in schedule software (P6) and other project management systems to provide tailored information system utilization for the needs of a specific project (estimating management systems, resource tracking databases, risk management system, objective /quality / performance metrics and dashboard systems, etc.) Apply risk and quality management to drive objective based management to increase project performance.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Eight years of construction / engineering experience with four of those years working as a project scheduler. Or Bachelor’s Degree and four years’ experience working as a project scheduler.
High degree of proficiency in scheduling software (P6) and spreadsheet development, utilization, and controlled manipulation.
Coordinates, applies cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, initial decision-making, communication soft skills; listening, articulating, writing, messaging, proactive stakeholder management.
Advanced ability to plan and schedule; develop, assess, analyze, progress; generate schedule levels of hierarchy; schedule database proficiency.
Integrated knowledge base in project scope-schedule-cost, and risk-quality management.
Integrated comprehension and application of project management subsidiary guidelines, standards, processes, and job aids.
Integrated proficiency in risk and quality management tools and techniques.
Leads (situational leadership), inspires, motivates project stakeholders in concert with effective stakeholder management using cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, value based decision-making, integrated communication (soft and hard skills); conflict resolution, team work, team building

Four years’ experience as a project scheduler.
Ability to read and interpret Primavera (P6) schedules, (P6) schedule software proficiency, database development proficiency.
Experience in large industrial Capital Project environments.

Develop qualitative and risk-managed integrated project baselines that are used to effectively measure project performance and provide the ability to take corrective / preventive / predictive action.
Apply the cost of quality to schedule management (development and monitoring and control).
Applies integrated objective risk management to the project baselines to optimize project risk responses.
Orchestrates contract commercial management, conducts contract performance assessment and reporting and initial contract performance analysis and contract schedule assessment, analysis, and change management forecasting.
Performs contract reviews relative to contract scope and schedule performance; makes recommendations to the project management team and project manager as well as the Manager of Project Scheduling - Project Controls.
Applies core project controls expertise.
Review and coordinate the management and utilization of project management guidelines, project management standards, processes, job aids, and tools.
Integrates all project management subsidiary systems to improve project performance.
Directs schedule effort.
Tailors schedule management processes.
Tailors / creates schedule management tools / techniques to advance schedule performance.
Provides continuous life cycle planning and scheduling processes with progressive risk management forecasting with increased predictability, accuracy and precision.
Manages the project schedule performance baseline (as well as the integrated project baselines).
Forecasts schedule performance and schedule variance (SV) and identifies opportunities to avoid negative schedule variances.
Drives / directs schedule assessment and analysis processes, methods, tools and techniques and integrates quality and risk response planning to determine project preventive actions / predictive actions and incorporates path optimum forward activities, logic, resource requirements, work around, contingency plans, etc. into the project schedule to progressively increase schedule accuracy, flexibility, and precision.
Works to implement schedule predictive (opportunity) actions.
Perform standard and advanced project and special project schedule reporting as anticipated for the project stakeholders; compiles and produces schedule reports as needed.
Drives a project integration mindset; integration of people, processes, tools, and techniques to advance the probability of project success.
Optimize product life cycle costing competence.
Becomes a project subject matter expert to the project management team, Major Project managers, Director, and other relevant stakeholders for proposed corrective, preventive, and predictive actions.
Applies integrated thinking to schedule management that facilitates improved objective performance.
Utilize communication competence to drive effective project schedule decision making.
The Team Lead Project Scheduler will manage in accordance with Industry standards, the NiSource Project Management Guidelines and Standards, and industry best practices.
