About The Position

Supervise employees on an assigned shift to ensure the work is completed within established timing, quality, and cost standards. Responsible for providing leadership to production department teams of employees and lead operators. This position operates in a production/plant environment 50% of the time and requires lifting up to 55 lbs. (25 kg). GMP training is required.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education.
  • Must be a good communicator with the ability to follow written as well as verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team as required.
  • Incumbent must be willing to work overtime if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the production department and SAP is preferred.
  • Past Supervisory experience or demonstrated ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide teams with information, tools, training and techniques that enable employees to perform their jobs consistently every day.
  • Ensure that the plant is operating by set work instructions and SOP’s.
  • Provide daily feedback to team members on production, schedules, quality, and safety.
  • Assure that all important information is transmitted to the next shift.
  • Provide input to the Production Manager on production personnel performance and the cross-functionality of the team.
  • Practice and promote safety, quality and sanitation by following plant policies, GMP’s and procedures.
  • Assist with administrative activities such as: Daily production and attendance report, audit Kronos time punches, notifications for out of specification batches, printing labels when needed, SAP work for short batches, clearing inventory deficits, checking HACCP books at middle and end of shift and inspect screener discharge samples, Ensure forklift checklists are being utilized, inventory items as needed, numerous daily SAP production system maintenance tasks, ensure all paperwork and batch sheets are being filled out correctly.
  • Provide information and assistance in planning and implementing new projects.
  • Coordinate temporary employees and ensure proper training is performed.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function for this position.
  • Compliance with all Company policies is required.
  • Assist with training a backup to this position to cover absences.
  • Responsible for adherence to all quality systems including, ISO, Food Safety, Food Defense and an understanding of IFF’s Quality Policy and procedures.
  • Maintain, exhibit and promote a safe, healthy and clean work place.
  • Produce quality products, on time, in a team-oriented, employee driven environment.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to all employees and management.
  • Operate the department with written SOP's and work instructions.
  • Cooperate, coordinate, and communicate with other shifts and production department leads.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team as necessary.
